Miss America 1952 Colleen Kay Hutchins passed away early this morning in her home in Newport Beach, California at the age of 83.
My deepest condolences go out to her family and friends.

Colleen wore the three point tiara which was later replaced by the Yamron crown. The three-point tiara was passed on to the new Miss America every year and after it was given to Lee Meriwether (Miss America 1955) it disappeared and was never found again. (The Yamrom crown is the four-point crown that is similar to the crown they currently use.)
